DEEP CLEAN YOUR SINK *ZERO WASTE EDITION*

I saw the craziest video of a lady using every single cleaning product in the cleaning aisle to clean her sink. Is this a joke? Is THIS what over consumption has brought us to? sigh

Well, I’m here to tell you that 99% of what you find in the cleaning aisle is toxic for your health. They cause skin/eye/throat irritation, heighten your chances of being exposed to chemicals, lead to lower sperm counts in men & unfortunately infertility in women as well. So, the video I saw today, triggered me to say the least.

Lets do this the BETTER way…

  1. use hot water to get as much food & build up down your drain
  2. take your multi purpose cleaning spray & spray your sink down (don’t forget the drain)
  3. add some baking soda (for degreaser, to unclog drains & neutralize odors)
  4. sprinkle course epsom salt then take your wooden scrub brush & scrub the heck out of your sink. Every. Last. INCH!
  5. rinse that all off using hot water
  6. take a half a lemon, squeeze juice out all over sink then open up the lemon to expose the flesh
  7. optional to add white vinegar to the peel for add disinfectant
  8. scrub the sink using flesh of the lemon to deodorize & offer a light disinfectant
  9. once the flesh is toast, to the same thing with the outer peel which is where you’ll really get the aromatherapy benefits
  10. optional add the leaves of a rosemary spring into the sink or whatever fragrance citrus or pine you have outside your home directly into your garbage disposal
  11. boil water & use that to rinse the lemon from your sink. let that sit for 15 mins THEN activate your garbage disposal for 30 secs.
  12. ENJOY! Should cost you less that $6 in ingredients to do this
  13. boil water & rinse all the lemon & vinegar off
